The AIM-Net network officially launched with its online kick-off meeting on May 30, 2025, bringing together representatives from all participating institutions. The session, led by María García-Parajo (ICFO), served to introduce the network members, review existing collaborations, and outline the initial coordination plan and budget adjustments.
During the meeting, participants defined the structure of AIM-Net’s Executive and Transversal Committees, including Data Integration and Analysis, Training and Outreach, Communications and Events, and Network Performance and Strategic Plan. Each committee established its first action items and deadlines, including the creation of communication channels, planning of future meetings, and the development of the network’s website and social media presence.
The consortium also discussed the organization of the first Biennial Conference and Summer School, planned for May 2026 in La Ràpita (Tarragona), following the successful AIM24 meeting held at the same location. This meeting marked an important step in consolidating AIM-Net as a coordinated national effort to connect imaging and AI experts across Spain and to foster interdisciplinary collaboration in quantitative biology.
